Do Flower Arranging Classes Have to Be Weekly? A Guide for Busy and Out-of-Town Students

You want to learn flower arranging, but setting aside the same day every week feels difficult. For many people, this is what makes them hesitate before signing up.

Work, school runs and family responsibilities can fill a calendar quickly. You save a class you like and admire the floral designs, yet keep thinking: perhaps I will start when life is a little less busy.

Flower arranging classes do not necessarily require weekly attendance. At Studio Blanc in Dazhi, Taipei, our fresh flower beginner and advanced courses are by appointment and must be completed within one year. Together, we can discuss a learning schedule based on your available dates and studio capacity.

You might come one day a week, choose a few days each month, or arrange lessons around a visit to Taipei. These options can be discussed before enrollment. In the studio, we see students make room for something they love in many different ways.

Two Days a Month, Set Aside for Flowers and Friendship

Some students set aside two days each month to take flower classes with a close friend.

They make time for an unhurried day, doing something they enjoy with someone they love spending time with.

Flower classes give them a reason to get together regularly. In otherwise busy lives, they still have time to sit down, choose flowers, prepare stems and leaves, and focus on the arrangement in front of them.

Learning can look like this, too: good company and something to look forward to. A calendar can hold more than obligations; it can also hold a day you are genuinely excited about.

A Morning with Flowers During a Holiday in Taiwan

Other students have visited Taiwan from overseas and included flower classes in their holiday.

They spend the morning with flowers, then head out to explore Taipei in the evening.

For them, travel is not only about visiting sights. It can also mean pausing in a studio to learn something they have always wanted to try. Flowers and creative practice offer another way to connect with a city.

If you are planning to stay in Taiwan for a while, let us know your arrival dates, available class times and what you would like to learn. We can then check what arrangements are possible.

The number of lessons you can complete during your visit depends on the course content and available appointments. There is no need to fill every day of your trip.

One Day a Week, Taking the High-Speed Rail from Taichung

We also have students who travel from Taichung, setting aside one day each week to take the high-speed rail to Taipei and back.

That day takes planning: booking transport and making room in an existing routine. Each visit moves their learning a little further forward.

For students coming from outside Taipei, distance is a practical consideration, but it does not necessarily mean giving up on learning. Consider travel time, energy and your other commitments before deciding whether weekly trips or fewer, more concentrated class days would suit you.

A schedule that works for someone else may not work for you. A rhythm you can sustain, and look forward to, is more likely to last.

Flexible Scheduling: How Can Flower Classes Fit into a Busy Life?

Before booking, consider what is easiest to set aside: half a day, a full day, or a stretch of consecutive dates.

  • A regular free day each week: Discuss a weekly class day to keep your learning connected.

  • Only a few available days each month: Share your available dates so lessons can be arranged around studio capacity.

  • Learning with a friend: Find dates that work for both of you before contacting us.

  • Traveling from another city: Discuss whether one or two lessons in a day would be possible, taking travel and energy levels into account.

  • A short stay in Taiwan: Share your travel dates early so we can confirm suitable class days and achievable course topics.

What Class Times Can I Book?

Studio Blanc generally offers daytime appointments from Tuesday to Saturday. Half-day arrangements or two lessons in a day may be discussed for some courses. Actual times depend on the topic, learning progress and studio capacity.

Flexible scheduling means finding a rhythm that suits you within the available appointment times. Please confirm your class dates before booking transport or making other plans.

To explore the learning content first, view the BIACA Fresh Flower Beginner Certificate Course or browse the Studio Blanc course overview (Chinese-language pages). We can then discuss a suitable schedule together.

Can My Learning Stay Connected without Weekly Classes?

Your schedule can be flexible, while your learning still builds from one lesson to the next.

If there is a longer gap between classes, keep a few simple notes afterward: which flowers you worked with, which steps need more practice, and what the teacher pointed out while adjusting your arrangement.

Photos of your work are useful records, too. Looking through them before your next class can help you recall both the techniques and the thinking behind them.

When booking, tell us how often you expect to attend so we can take continuity into account when planning your lessons.

Scheduling Questions to Ask before Enrolling

How Long Do I Have to Complete the Course?

Studio Blanc's fresh flower beginner and advanced courses must be completed within one year. Weekly attendance is not required.

Plan around work, family and travel, whether that means one day a week or a few days each month. Let us know your available dates first, then confirm appointments according to studio capacity, so learning can find a comfortable place in your life.

Can I Reschedule if Something Comes Up?

Yes. If you need to change a class date, please notify us two days before your class. We will help you find another available appointment.

If something unexpected happens at short notice, please contact us as well. Because the flowers for your lesson have already been prepared, a last-minute change only requires payment of that day's flower materials fee; the lesson can be rescheduled.

We understand that work and family life sometimes bring unexpected changes. Letting us know early helps us work out the next steps together.

Are These Classes Suitable if I Simply Want a New Hobby?

Yes. You can start with an introductory class, get to know the flowers and see whether you enjoy the creative process before deciding to continue.

You do not need a long-term plan for something you enjoy before you begin. Making a little time for it is already a starting point.

Make a Little Room in Life, and a Little Room for Yourself

Between work and family, it is easy to arrange everyone else's needs first. Our own interests often end up in the category of "when I have time."

That time might be two days a month with a close friend, a morning during a holiday, or a weekly train journey to the studio.

You do not have to change your whole life at once. Start by setting aside a time you enjoy, and give that long-held interest a chance to become part of everyday life.

If you are thinking about learning flower arranging but are unsure whether the timing will work, contact Studio Blanc on our official LINE account and tell us:

  • Which city you will be traveling from

  • Your available dates or times

  • Whether you would like an introductory class or a complete course

We will discuss suitable arrangements with you based on the course content and available places.
